Anthropic launches Claude AI connectors for Adobe, Blender, and other creative tools
Anthropic on Tuesday released nine new Claude connectors aimed at creative professionals, extending its AI assistant into workflows spanning 3D modeling, video editing, music production, and live visual performance. The company also joined the Blender Development Fund as a Corporate Patron, pledging at least €240,000 annually to the open-source 3D software.

Bridging AI and Creative Software
"Today, with a coalition of partners including Blender, Autodesk, Adobe, Ableton, and Splice, we're releasing a set of connectors — tools that let Claude work alongside the software creative professionals rely on, so creatives can extend their reach," Anthropic said in a blog post.
The connectors span a wide range of creative disciplines. Adobe for creativity draws on more than 50 tools across Creative Cloud apps including Photoshop, Premiere, and Express. Autodesk Fusion lets designers create and modify 3D models through conversation. Blender offers a natural-language interface to its Python API, enabling artists to analyze scenes, debug setups, and build custom scripts. Affinity by Canva automates repetitive production tasks like batch image adjustments and file exports. Splice gives music producers the ability to search its royalty-free sample catalog from within Claude, while Resolume lets VJs and live visual artists control performances through natural language. SketchUp turns text descriptions into downloadable 3D model files, and Ableton grounds Claude's responses in official documentation for Live and Push.
The connectors are built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open-source standard Anthropic introduced in 2025 that creates secure bridges between Claude and external applications. Because MCP is open, other large language models can also connect to tools like Blender through the same protocol.
Investing in Open-Source 3D Tools
Alongside the software integrations, Anthropic became a Corporate Patron of the Blender Development Fund, the highest tier of corporate sponsorship available from the Blender Foundation. The commitment of at least €240,000 per year — roughly equivalent to the salaries of four full-time developers — places Anthropic alongside other major patrons such as Epic Games and, as of January, Netflix Animation Studios.
A Broader Creative Push
The release extends a rapid pace of product launches from Anthropic in 2026, which has included Claude Cowork, Claude Design, and 15 consumer app connectors added just last week for services like Spotify, Uber, and Instacart. The creative connectors mark a deliberate move beyond productivity and coding — areas where Claude has built its reputation — into the tools used by designers, musicians, and visual artists.
"The best creative work flows between thinking and making," said Paul Smith, Anthropic's chief commercial officer, in a statement accompanying Adobe's earlier announcement of its own AI assistant partnership with the company.
